Two PJCC students recently completed the three-week Manufacturing Technician Short-Term Training program at SMCC at their Midcoast Campus in Brunswick. This program is a partnership with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works and the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce. We are happy to report that after completing the program, Brittany, who has completed Welding and is an Advanced Marine Pipefitting student, and Omar, who has completed Welding and is a UBC Carpentry student, both had successful interviews with BIW and are taking the next steps to begin their careers at the Shipyard. PJCC is grateful for this partnership, and we are looking forward to sending more of our highly trained students to participate in this program.
