On Saturday, March 28th, Penobscot Job Corps’ BEL Kelly Ryder, and Recreation Supervisor Chris Young, got up bright and early to take 4 students to volunteer at the Maine Special Olympics Basketball Tournament which was held at the UMaine Orono in their New Balance Fitness Center. The group of volunteers left center at 7:15 am and worked at the Skill Stations all day. The day was filled with lots of excitement, high fives, big smiles, and tons of basketball. It was a very memorable and rewarding experience getting to volunteer for the Special Olympics.
