The adventure began at 2pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Welding Instructor Mike Collins and seven Penobscot Job Corps Academy (PJCA) students loaded in the van and the “Free the Z” great turkey hunt was on. The PJCA turkey hunters were representing the PJCA students and staff who had raised $367.37 to donate to the Z103 / Manna Ministries annual turkey drive. After visiting four local supermarkets the group arrived at the Z103 remote location in the Brewer shopping plaza and proceeded to unload 38 turkeys!! The remaining $93.21 was donated for a total equivalent of 46 turkeys!! Mike Collins was featured as a guest on the radio and the students assisted area residents with their turkey donations. The PJCA turkey hunters will be featured on the Z103 Facebook page. A good time was had by all!
