11/22/11. A long standing tradition returned to the Penobscot Job Corps Academy today as staff served students a traditional turkey day meal during both lunches. A festive atmosphere was felt throughout the dining commons as staff scurried about delivering refreshments and deserts to the young people as they feasted on turkey & stuffing, roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, squash, peas, candied yams, cheese biscuits and salad. One student was heard to say “I don’t know how to eat with staff waiting on me”! Another stated that “this is a most wonderful meal”. Spontaneous applause from the students broke out at the end of second lunch as the young people showed their appreciation. Food Service Manager Tim Cyr is looking forward to a repeat performance from staff prior to the upcoming Christmas holiday break.
