National Job Corps Commencement Day at the Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center was a great ceremony with 140 graduates with 55 graduates in attendance. The Honorable Danny K. Davis of the United States House of Representatives was our special guest speaker. The ceremony took place in the center’s gymnasium. Our center director, Bryan Mason stated that next graduation will have to take place at another venue to accommodate all of the graduates, staff, family and friends. It was a very exciting day celebrating the graduation on the day President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Economic Opportunity Act creating Job Corps in 1964 – August 30 -. Congratulations to all of the Job Corps graduates where success last a lifetime. We will continue to have many more commencements celebrating more years of Job Corps and many more graduates.
