The United States House of Representative’s Jan Schakowsky visited the Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center to take a tour of our Career Technical Training Program and to speak with the students and staff at the weekly business meeting (student assembly).
Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky stated she was impressed with the center as soon as she stepped on the campus. The students welcomed her and were proud to show off their campus. The Congresswoman had very motivating and encouraging words to share with the students and staff. Though the business meeting ran into their normal 1st lunch period, the students did not run to the cafeteria for lunch instead they ran to shake her hand, take pictures with her, and ask questions.
The Center Director, Bryan Mason and other staff members shared information on our center performance and Business and Community Liaison, Beth Allen, asked Congresswoman Schakowsky to consider becoming a member of the Friends of Job Corps Congressional Caucus.
We thank you Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky for the visit and your support of Job Corps.
