Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Student of the Quarter :Caila Hall!

Caila arrived on center in late July 2023 and has been the shining example of what a Paul Simon Chicago student can be. Caila exhibits quality Career Success Standards that help her meet the challenges of Career and Technical Training and Academics. Caila is a leader in her Bricklaying trade, picking up skills quickly, mastering them and teaching them to others when the opportunity arises. In Academics, Caila tested out of Reading on her first try, but had her eye on the “Math TABE out”. It’s no secret that Academics “ear marked” Caila as the first Math TABE out in quite some time, and Caila answered the call. Utilizing the everyday math skills she needed for her trade, Instructors and Caila were able to hone the Math skills needed to hit that elusive “Educational Functional Level 6”! Most Americans don’t have the drive to do this, but Caila does.

Caila’s success has inspired numerous other students to join her in that rare group of students who have maxed out the Math TABE while the trades look forward to her continued leadership.
