NASA Astronaut Ron Garan via interactive web chat.

On February 8th students in two academic classes at Oneonta Job Corps Academy went to SUNY Oneonta to participate in a live video chat with NASA astronaut, Colonel Ron Garan. Oneonta Job Corps students were part of a crowd of nearly 400 students from Oneonta City School District and SUNY Oneonta.

The live chat was hosted from the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Colonel Garan was connected with SUNY Oneonta and Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, New York via an interactive live chat and was being viewed by several other high schools on the webcast.

Colonel Garan answered questions that students at both Roosevelt and SUNY Oneonta asked and showed video clips of his previous mission to outer space. Oneonta Job Corps Academy students were impressed by the amount of information that was given and left the hour long live chat with a better understanding of space travel.
