My name is Marquez, I want to share my Story about being off center during COVID–19.

When COVID sent you home for an extended spring break, what were you most nervous about?
When COVID sent me home, I was nervous about not knowing how long I would be back home. I did know if
we were ever coming back.

Once Job Corps launched its virtual learning platform, what were you most excited out?
I wasn’t excited about the virtual learning program. I had started a new job and that meant I had to wake up early in the morning.

What kinds of challenges did you face as a result of COVID and being home?
The challenges I face was having to be away from all my friends for so long.

How did Job Corps staff help you face those challenges?
The staff did their very best to communicate with me regularly.

Do you have a favorite teacher, instructor or counselor?
My favorite teacher is Mrs. Ellis.

What are you most hopeful about as 2021 begins?
I’m most hopeful about turning 21 this year.
