45 students and staff at North Texas Job Corps registered to vote on September 24th, National Voter Registration Day. The Center joined thousands of other organization, businesses, schools, churches, and individuals across the United States in registering persons to vote on this special day set aside nationally for voter registration. The center partnered with the Collin County NAACP, Chi Zeta Omega Chapter of AKA, and the Collin County Graduate Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta to register the students and staff at the North Texas Job Corps. The center will continue to educate its students about the importance of voting and provide the opportunities for students and staff to register.
Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more that 50 years. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964. The North Texas Job Corps Center is located in McKinney, Texas. Our jobtraining program helps eligible youth ages 16-24 train for meaningful careers in Construction, Healthcare, Hospitality, Transportation, Homeland Security, and Finance and Business. Students are also able to complete their high school education and obtain employment.
