NORTH TEXAS JOB CORPS GRAD NOW WORKS at CSL PLASMA

Silverio Martinez, who completed the Patient Care Technician (PCT) career technical training program at North Texas Job Corps in February 2020 is now employed at CSL Plasma in Dallas, TX as a phlebotomist.  Martinez earned certifications in phlebotomy, and as an EKG Technician and Patient Care Technician.  He is currently makine an annual salary of $27,000.  Martinez, who enrolled at North Texas Job Corps in August 2018, said, “I joined NTJCC as a way to further myself and explore the horizon of learning!  I selected the trade Patient Care Technician.  I enjoyed my trade so very much and it was definitely a great experience having met the wonderful people that I did.”  Martinez served in leadership roles in his trade.  He benefitted from his work-based learning experience with Carter Blood Care.

“My Job Corps experience at North Texas Job Corps helped me feel more confident of who I was.  I felt like I could truly be myself and really help out those who needed someone to listen.”  In recommending Job Corps to others, Martinez said, “I would definitely let others know that you can do whatever you set your mind to and if you are given a second chance, take it.”
