NORTH TEXAS JOB CORPS GRADUATE, KENDRICK WALKER, IS A MASTER’S DEGREE CANDIDATE
Kendrick Walker is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce, Commerce, TX. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Jarvis Christian College. Walker was an honor’s graduate of North Texas Job Corps where he completed the Office Administration trade in 2014. He held several leadership positions at NTJCC in Student Government, Dorm leadership and on the Community Service Impact Team. He says that “every experience with every position at NTJCC brought out a lot about myself, which is my awareness, my critical thinking, my way of being what a real leader is supposed to be. Even Work Based Learning proved to be a challenge but I did a really good job at it. These experiences at NTJCC helped me to participate as a leader on the Jarvis campus.” At Jarvis he was Mr. Sophomore in the King’s Court; Junior Class Public Relations representative in the Student Government Association; Choir Counsel of the Tenor section; Baritone section leader in the Sophisticated Sounds of Soul Band; and head Drum Major in the band. “I would encourage all youth to always be successful, no matter what challenges you are facing.”
