McKinney, TX American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” Seeks Volunteers from the North Texas Job Corps

The North Texas Job Corps has participated as a team in the McKinney, TX  “Relay for Life” activities since 2006.  This is our signature community fundraising event that is coordinated by the Finance Manager, Vivian LeJeune.  The local organizers are increasingly utilizing the students of the North Texas Job Corps as volunteers to help with the set-up and logistics of this huge event.  On the morning of Friday, March 23, 2010 seventeen members of the NTJCC IMPACT Team helped to decorate at the Stonebridge United Methodist Church, the site for this year’s  annual “Survivor Dinner.”  This same group later served the participants of the dinner as well as cleaned up the church afterwards.  NTJCC own songbird, Italia Anguiano, sang Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”  All of them have been asked to serve as volunteers for the actual “Relay for Life” walk scheduled in April.  And yes, Italia has been asked to perform on the big stage.  We are looking forward to participating.
