Sharing Our Skills Night

On Thursday evening January 23^rd members of the Green and White Mountain section of the American Welding Society joined Northland students for an Industry Council meeting. The theme of the gathering was “Sharing Our Skills Night”, and there was certainly a lot of that.

Every student in Jim Blanchard’s class was present and eager to have their welding skills critiqued or ask questions of the experienced society members.

The energy level was extremely high and the shop resembled a busy production facility with a variety of different types of welding throughout the evening.

The students also learned lessons in networking as several exchanged contact information with the society members making connections for possible apprenticeships and job opportunities.

The society members were so impressed with the students they were featured on the cover of their monthly magazine.
