(Matt Berk rings the bell at Northlands old chapel)
If by chance you heard a ringing church bell fill the air in Vergennes Monday morning, you were hearing Northlands’ sound of success. Graduating Facilities Maintenance student Matt Berk was the first to kick off the new celebration aimed at marking a student’s notable achievement.
Northlands Director Tony Staynings felt that allowing students who move on to advanced training the opportunity to ring the old chapel bell would be a fun incentive. “It’s also a great way to let all those who hear it know that another student has achieved something special,” Mr. Staynings said.
Matt will be attending the TCU/IAM Advanced Training Program at Shriver Job Corps in Massachusetts to further his study in electronics. Northlands has seen a marked increase in students who pursue their education, making it one of the top performers in of all Job Corps for students going on to advanced training.
