Northlands Students Make Earth Day Every Day

The Northlands Job Corps Academy group Ladies of Success took the “Make Earth Day Every Day” pledge to heart with a volunteer clean-up near the boat launch in Panton. As part of Vermont’s annual “Green Up Day” event, which focuses on volunteer efforts to clean up the environment, the Ladies of Success filled dozens of bags along a mile-long road next to Dead Creek.

Among the items they found were televisions, pizza boxes, beer cans, dead animals and countless shotgun casings. The Ladies’ hard work was praised by Louise Giovanella, the Panton Green Up Day Coordinator, who has received help from Northlands for many years.

The Ladies of Success volunteer group included Paige Clark, Ashley Darby, Melissa Lewis, Hannah Williams, Jessica Foskey, Kayla Brown and Arianna Talbert. Thank you, ladies, for making a difference!
