Northlands Student Accepeted for Advanced Training

Amanda Williams

Amanda Williams is a true Job Corps success story. Born in Burlington Vermont, Amanda has lived in foster care since the age of 13. She attended and graduated from Randolph Technical Career Center, where she studied Graphic Arts and Culinary Arts.

Amanda came to Northlands in September 2009 to further her culinary skills. Amanda says “ I wanted to continue to work in culinary, but did not have the money to pay for school” After one year at Northlands, Amanda is graduating and moving to San Francisco, CA to the Treasure Island Job Corps for Advanced Culinary Arts training. After a year of perfecting her culinary skills, Amanda will stay for an addition six months to study Advanced Baking and Pastry Arts. After Job Corps, Amanda says “one on my goals is to study in Ireland, and learn to bake traditional Irish pastries, which is part of my heritage”
