Northlands Job Corps Students Help With Major Race Event

Eight students from Northlands Job Corps Academy in Vergennes, Vermont volunteered to help park cars and control traffic at a 100-mile relay running race on Saturday. The event, called the 100 on 100 Relay, is a team-based running experience made up of groups of six. Each team member runs and then Hands-off a baton to a teammate. The team member who just finished running then waits until all team members have run before eventually they hand-off back to the first runner. Each runner runs three times throughout the day completing roughly 16.5 miles in total.

Funds from the race help to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Vermont. When the local Boys and Girls Club approached Northlands for help with the race, members of the groups Ladies of Success and Gentlemen of Success were ready to do whatever they could. Together they worked a total of ten hours, helping to make the annual event run smoothly. They’ve already been asked back for next year!

Congratulations to these fine young men and women for their service to our community.
