The holiday season in Vergennes, Vermont brings with it a long tradition of special celebrations. And for just as long, students from Northlands have been an active part of ensuring the festivities are successful and full of fun.
During Halloween, Northlands students were an integral part of the Vergennes Haunted Warehouse. Students helped move furniture to make room for the various scenes occupying the Kennedy Brothers building, painted a huge sign for a main city intersection, baked hundreds of cookies for the event, operated the snack booth and assisted with parking the night of the event. Even more, they created a “Haunted Insane Asylum” scene that was truly frightening.
The annual Vergennes Holiday Stroll was another big event. Northlands Culinary Arts students made hundreds of gingerbread cookies which they helped youngsters to decorate, while other students gave away free hot chocolate. Both booths were very popular with the hundreds of attendees.
Our students sure know how to make the holidays happy!
