Northlands Job Corps Center ‘s Advanced Welding Instructor Jim Blanchard  and his students created a Memorial Day display. The creation of the Memorial Day display was a collaborative project lead by Jim Blanchard, Advanced Welding Instructor with support from Advanced Welding students. Mr. Blanchard and his Advanced Welding class spent a couple of weeks welding the piece and then painting it. It can be seen when driving through our campus and is surrounded by American flags all of which were installed by a few employees who are Veterans themselves.

12 Veterans work at Northlands and a current Advanced Welding student is also a veteran who served in Japan.

Georgette Kandzior, Employee Administration Specialist and Veteran at Northlands, in reflecting on the Memorial Day display said, “The piece is dedicated in honor to those who fought for us and did not make it home.”
