The United Way of Addison County’s annual Days of Caring campaign received an enthusiastic response from Northlands students. More than 12 volunteers helped in the towns of Lincoln and Bridport.

In Lincoln, students cleared a municipal athletic field that had been left covered with silt, wood and other debris in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. Meanwhile, volunteers in Bridport (in photos above) weeded and planted two gardens at the elementary school. The job was so big it ended up taking two days. Representatives of the United Way provided free T-shirts for the students as well as certificates recognizing their hard work.
