In an Easter Sunday rebroadcast of a recent interview, BCL Randy Savoie highligted student success stories and talked about future employment opportunities for the Center’s trainees on WYLD-FM’s Sunday Journal with Hal Clark. WYLD-FM is the city’s #1 Arbitron-rated radio station.

“Success stories? There have been so many,” said Savoie. “One that immediately comes to mind is a young woman named Kimberly who had not had all the breaks in life and from an at-risk background. She so impressed the managers at Red Fish Grill on a Culinary field trip that they hired her three weeks later. She performed so well in the heat of battle that day”

“All we ask is that the students apply themselves. It’s a free program and if they give us their all we will do the rest,” Savoie told Clear Channel Radio’s Clark.

Savoie stressed that the Job Corps trade offerings are tailored to meet the needs of the city.

“We want to keep our young people here in New Orleans as we continue rebuilding from Hurricane Katrina,” said Savoie.
