BCL Randy Savoie told the New Orleans Rotary Club that Job Corps is “providing students with a game-plan for life and placing them in a position to succeed.” Savoie was the Rotary Club’s guest speaker recently at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino Resort located in downtown New Orleans.

“A young man named Eddie Addison is a shining example of the youth we serve,” Savoie told a group of over 100 of the city’s leading executives. ” Eddie came to us with some big goals in mind. He wanted to be a carpenter at 26 and own a home by 30. He is on track to meet both goals after completing Job Corps and transitioning into the full apprenticeship of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. That isn’t all. Recently, the National Job Corps Association named him Job Corps’ “Graduate of the Week. He is making all of us very proud.”

Following the meeting, Liberty Bank Vice President Howard Brooks approached Savoie about conducting a financial literacy day for the students and plans on visiting the Center this month.
