New Orleans Job Corps Center Culinary graduate India Love told WDSU-TV weekend news anchor LaTonya Norton that young people should “try job corps. You’ll never go wrong. You have to want it to have it and there are people at (New Orleans Job Corps) willing to help you. They will never turn their back on you.”
India and the Center’s BCL Randy Savoie recently appeared as guests on the WDSU-TV (NBC) Sunday morning news program, “6 on Your Side.” Since completing her Culinary Arts certification, India has been hired by Hilton Hotels in downtown New Orleans and her supervisors are very pleased with her attitude and job performance.
Savoie said, “We may have a lot of young people watching this morning without a whole lot of hope and we’re here to give them that hope, that game plan for life.
It was the New Orleans Job Corps Center’s third TV appearance this year and sixth media appearance overall in 2012. Before the interview, Ms. Norton told India, ” I like your name- India Love- that sounds like a future TV network news correspondent.” Judging by the poise she displayed on live television, it probably won’t be her last.
