New Orleans Culinary Arts instructor Simone Burrell, affectionately know as Chef Victoria, performed a live cooking demonstration on the city’s top-rated news station WWL-TV as part of TXT 4 Health, a text-based messaging service designed to assess your risk for type 2 diabetes and to help you live a better life.

“Of course I had my Job Corps chef coat on and I had a chance to tell them all about our program,” said Chef Victoria. “Eric Paulsen, the show’s co-anchor, wanted to do a couple of cooking lessons as well and he thought it was great that we have such an excellent vocational training program for disadvantaged youth here in New Orleans.”

 Chef Victoria served up tomato salad and baked salmon that was quickly devoured by the show’s anchors- Paulsen and Sally-Ann Roberts. Both Paulsen and Roberts told Chef Victoria she is welcome to cook for the TV news team anytime she desires.
