Former New Orleans Saints Vice President and current City Council President Arnie Fielkow delivered the commencement address to 51 graduates of the New Orleans Job Corps.
The graduation ceremony was held recently on the campus of Warren Easton High School in New Orleans.
In his speech, Council President Fielkow congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to do their best in their new careers and work to make the city, state, nation and the world a better place for all.
“Most of you know that I wasn’t always a politician, but previously had a pretty good gig as Saints Executive Vice President. And you also now know that you are the class that is graduating the same year New Orleans became a City of World Champions,” said Councilman Fielkow.
“Our boys in black and gold went from being called the Aints to being cheered on as the Saints, setting an example for the whole city – just like all of you graduates today. For the past five months we have all relished in those two wonderful words – WHO DAT – but today I have two new words applicable to you – YOU DAT!”
