City Councilmember Susan Guidry toured New Orleans Job Corps Center on August 19th and says she looks forward to involving trainees in a number of ongoing community service projects in the city.
She called Job Corps, “a shining example of taxpayer dollars at work for the betterment of our community.”
A native of New Orleans, Councilmember Guidry has spent many years advocating for local neighborhoods, most recently working to speed recovery efforts necessitated by the flooding of New Orleans as a result of Hurricane Katrina. She is a former High School English teacher and a passionate advocate for the area’s disadvantaged youth.
