New Hampshire Job Corps Goes to the Witches

The Salem witch trials are an important part of our history, not only showing how far the judicial system has come, but more importantly, how Salem Massachusetts was one of the 13 colonies that established the rest of the country. Settlers did not begin to move to the West until 1804, and Salem served as a founding community of society.

During the trip to Salem Massachusetts students saw reenactments, period time clothes, and the difference in wealth and poverty. The rich could afford fine materials, spices, and wines of higher quality while the poor lived in squalor.

The students, themselves being residents of the 13 colonies in New Hampshire, should continue to learn about New Hampshire history, the slave trade route, Boston, the battle with England over unfair taxation without representation, and so much more. New England is an epicenter for American History.
