Once center staff received word the first group of students would be returning on February 23rd collaboration and planning began on how students could be made to feel welcome as they returned “home.” Due to increased COVID restrictions eliminating the ability for students to procure supplies from local stores the idea developed to create student goody bags. These bags were prepared and placed in each student’s dorm room before their arrival on campus. The bags pictured above included items such as snacks, candy, slippers, hygiene items, reusable cup, laundry basket and a reusable tote bag. Students expressed their appreciation and how great it felt to be missed. Muhlenberg Job Corps Center will now be receiving one group of 25 students returning each month and plans to do the same as each group returns.
