The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center has enhanced safety technology resources to comply with the Department of labor and National Office of Job Corps’ increased focus on program safety and zero tolerance policies.  Interior security cameras have been installed across campus and exterior security cameras are scheduled to be installed over the next few weeks.  The devices provide the Center Director, Safety & Security officers and Behavior Management staff easy monitoring and recording of student behavior from their offices at all times.  The center wants to provide a safe campus living and learning environment for all students and staff.

In addition to the camera devices, the center has implemented other safety and security measures that include center perimeter checks and signage, random vehicle inspections of staff and visitors, and dormitory searches of unauthorized items.  The center has proven successful in providing a safe environment as indicated by recent student satisfaction survey results that exceeded the national average.  The center is also proud to report the annual Occupational Safety & Health score for 2016 was 8.2 out a 9 scoring measure.  Needless to say, the students feel very safe at their current home away from home.

The Muhlenberg Job Corps’ approach to student and staff safety will enhance the learning environments that will better prepare our next generation for the workforce and for life.
