On March 27, Muhlenberg Job Corps Business Community Liaison Brian Hancock headed to Capitol Hill to visit with US Senator and representatives and their staff. The purpose of the visit was to share with elected officials the positive impact that Muhlenberg Job Corps has on the students it serves, the local community and its economy, and the dedicated people who are employed at the center. Also discussed were the need for continued government support of the Job Corps program and the best practices model adopted by Insights Training Group and Horizons Youth Services that offers life and social skills programs that enhance the vocational training students receive at Job Corps and better prepare students for today’s competitive workplace.
Hancock and BCLs from other Kentucky Job Corps centers visited the offices of Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, and Congressman John Yarmuth, Thomas Massie and James Comer.
