Friday, October 16, 2015, was an evening where many Muhlenberg County citizens came together to recognize and support local law enforcement officers. A special prayer ceremony was held at 6 pm and was conducted by Muhlenberg County Sheriff, Curtis McGehee. Following, a Law Enforcement recognition ceremony was held at the Central City Fitness Center for all of those honored to wear blue. Many surrounding citizens were in celebration with the event as over 3,000 homes and businesses displayed bright royal blue bows on their business doors, mail boxes, and homes to show their support for Muhlenberg County law enforcement.
A group of fifteen from the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center was present to show their support and to participate in the 5K event. MJCC donated over $400 and overall there was $4,100 presented to the Kentucky Law Enforcement agency will go towards the Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund. MJCC is proud of the students for showing their support in this community event. They are also very proud to state that student George Clark, from Farrell, Pennsylvania, who is completing the welding trade was the second runner to cross the finish line. Great job George!
