Muhlenberg Job Corps students received free tax preparation from the Retired Senior Volunteers of Muhlenberg County. This was the sixth consecutive year students have received this service from the Retired Senior Volunteers. Twenty students received tax preparation help and over seven thousand dollars will be refunded to the students.
Kenny Brown, Center Director at Muhlenberg said, “The help given our students by the Retired Senior Volunteers is so appreciated by our students. Our students would have to pay upwards of seventy five dollars per return to have their tax returns processed if volunteers did not help them.”
The Muhlenberg Job Corps is so fortunate to have this service provided to their students. This is just one shining example of how Muhlenberg community residents support the local Job Corps program. Muhlenberg students also give back to the community through many different projects. In past years, students have parked cars for the Muhlenberg County Fair, helped with construction of Habitat for Humanity houses and supported blood drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross.
