The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center Wellness Staff and Health Advocates are well aware that even healthy people can get the flu.  Yearly flu shots are recommended for anyone older than 6 months of age.  Throughout the month of November medical staff was proactive with educating students and staff about how serious the flu can be.   Flu education was shared at weekly student assemblies and information pamphlets were distributed.  The medical staff and advocates highly encouraged everyone to take the following actions to protect themselves and others from the flu:  1) take time to get the flu vaccine, 2) take every day preventative actions to stop the spread of germs, and 3) take flu antiviral drugs, if prescribed.    During the month of November, over 176 flu vaccinations were administered to staff and students of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center.
