Muhlenberg Job Corps offers CDL Class A Opportunities

The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center is taking the heavy truck driving training course to the next level for those who dream of being an on-the-road truck driver.  The center is piloting Class A licensing to see how successful Class A advancement could be to the overall success of the heavy truck driving program.

Since this is a pilot program, students are being carefully chosen by the instructors.  The students must possess high TABE scores, obtain Class B license on first attempt, perform exceptional driving skills, remain a positive student within Job Corps’ Standards of Conduct, be 21 years of age, and commit to over the road trucking.  To date, two students have achieved their Class A licensure who are Devon rich and Mitchel Seeber.  Both students were hired by Brewco Marketing Company, under a temporary agreement.

An industry leader in experiential marketing, Brewco Marketing Group specializes in mobile tours, retail activation, product sampling, design/fabrication services, corporate hospitality, athlete/artist management, and motorsports management.  BMG creates unique and memorable brand experiences placing products directly to a target audience through customized marketing campaigns which really deliver.

Mr. Devon Rich is currently working as a CDL Driver – Class A on tour for LP Building Products.  Mr. Mitchell Seeber is working as a CDL Driver-Class A on a tour for Compassion International.  Mark Freer, BMG Director of Compliance states, “We are excited to partner with Muhlenberg Job Corps Center in providing an opportunity for their students to enter the work force.  The students have been respectful, well prepared, and have displayed a willingness to ‘get the job done safe and on time.’  We look forward to our relationship growing with Muhlenberg Job Corps.”

The Center’s goal is to become an additional advanced Class A licensing training center within the Job Corps nation.  By doing so will only increase center performance outcomes for this trade and provide a higher level of employment opportunities for our students.
