The young ladies of MCDC were honored with their annual Ladies Tea. The Ladies Tea is a dress up event where the ladies learn about the art of being special. Manners, professional dress, interviewing skills and general employability skills are the topics of the day. Jamie Wells, Senior Vice-President of Old National Bank was the guest speaker. Wells spoke to the group about “the labels” we collect throughout life. Wells asked each student to write on a piece of paper what adjective would best describe them. She asked, “Are the labels we own the ones we want everyone to know about us.” She gave examples of good and bad labels such as happy/sad, funny/grouchy, diva/drama queen. Wells said, “If the labels we are known by are not good, the only way to change the label is to change our attitudes.” The young men of MCDC served as escorts and waiters for the day.
