The Muhlenberg Job Corps Center recently opened a new residence hall titled “Independence Hall.” The students living in this residence hall are honor students who have displayed above average independent living skills and personal achievement. The residence hall allows students more freedom to live independently of the normal routing schedule in place at other campus residence halls. The Independence Hall has been a crown jewel of the campus since it’s inception in October 2015. Center Life Director, Cody Perry, who fostered the creation of this residential living area alongside student leaders stated, “the leaders who were in place from the beginning and those that came after them are responsibly for the success of this component of the residential living program.”
Perry is extremely proud of the students hard work, dedication, and their ability to self-manage. It was the leaders who recently championed the cause to rename the dorm “Independence Hall” and there was no disputing the name was perfect.
