The Muhlenberg Job Corps held it’s annual Health and Safety Fair on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Students were treated to a picnic style meal at 11:00 am and were released from class at 12:30 to visit the many booths set up by local health and safety vendors. Vendors participating were: Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville Fire Department, Wendell H. Ford Fire Training Unit (National Guard), Muhlenberg County Ambulance Service, Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Department, Muhlenberg County Health Department, Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, HR Ministries, Air Evac Life Team, PHI Life Flight team, Celebrate Recovery, Trover Clinic, Mahr Cancer Center, Muhlenberg County Red Cross and Pathway of Hope.
The Muhlenberg Job Corps Wellness Department manned 3 booths; Golf Cart event where students had to maneuver through a road course using goggles that distorted vision as if a person was drinking; a booth displaying the benefits of water and why water consumption is healthy and a ropes training course/zip line event. The Health & Safety Fair was sponsored by the Wellness Department, Wellness Advocates, Safety Department and Safety Cadets of Muhlenberg.
