Muhlenberg Job Corps graduate Chester Epperson visited MJCC students and staff at MJCC on November 14th as he headed back home to Humbolt, TN, driving his 18 wheeler from Indianapolis after taking a load there for the company he works for Max Trans.
Chester graduated from MJCC with his welding certificate and switched to CDL after graduation due to his experiences with the truck driving instructors that he encountered while in the Job Corps program.
“I have been with this company for four months, and before that I worked for US express. I left that company in order to be closer to home.” Said Epperson.
Epperson reports that he brings home between six and seven hundred dollars per week from driving. “I make good money doing this and I get to be home every other day. You can’t beat it. I never would have done this had I not come to Job Corps.”
Epperson advised the students on center to stay focused and keep their “heads in the game”.
