Muhlenberg Job Corps Graduate now a Marine

The training that Chris Morales received at Muhlenberg Job Corps has made the dream of joining the United States Marine Corps a reality.
Morales, who completed the Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Welding career technical training programs at Muhlenberg Job Corps in January 2018, is now a motor transport operator for the Marine Corps. “I transport hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of highly explosive ammunition and am tasked with transporting other Marines, ” Morales said. He also has continued his job training since enlisting in the Marines, explaining that “I am now certified to operate many large military vehicles. I have even learned many types of combat training, how to handle a rifle and a M240 (a 7.62mm NATO belt-fed heavy machine gun).”
In addition to completing the two training programs at Muhlenberg Job Corps, Morales earned his OHSA 10 Certification. He also enjoyed extracurricular activities such as Cross Fit while at Muhlenberg Job Corps, which led to him wanting to become a Marine.
Morales has enjoyed the traveling that comes with being in the military, saying, “In the past year, I have gone through many states and multiple cities,” although he can’t cite specifics due to the nature of his job and confidentiality requirements.
