Muhlenberg Job Corps Demolishes Downtown Building

Muhlenberg Job Corps tudents from the Heavy Equipment Operators, Construction Equipment Mechanic and Welding trades demolished an old building in downtown Central City, Kentucky. The building is being removed so the city can build an entertainment park called Lu-Ray Park.  Students working on the building practiced in real life the skills they have been learning since becoming Job Corps students at Muhlenberg.  Central City Mayor Barry Shaver and the city council approached the Job Corps asking for help with the project.  The dollars they save in tearing down the building can be used in providing a more modern up to date park.  The park when completed will have a stage so musical and theatricial shows can be performed.  This project is just one of many the Muhlenberg Job Corps students take part in each year to enhance the community in which they live.
