For approximately three months the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center Medical Office Support Career Pros Team (mentor program) held multiple fundraisers (jean days, candy sales, & bake sales) to raise funds so they could give back to their local community.

The team raised enough money to host a lunch, provide door prizes, and play games with the workers of the Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center (MCOC).  The MCOC is a private non-profit organization that provides vocational evaluation and training to adults with disabilities in the Muhlenberg and  Hopkins County areas.  The workshop trains and rehabilitates individuals with disabilities to prepare them for competitive employment and offers long-term employment to clients at the Opportunity Center.

Eight students and four staff members chaperoned and monitored the event for the 60 MCOC workers in attendance.  The workers enjoyed the event so much CPT Manager, Karen Robinson received a call from the Opportunity Center director asking when they could do it again.

This is just one of the many ways the students and staff of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center gives back to their local community.
