On Friday, July 31, 2015, Muhlenberg Job Corps celebrated National Job Corps Commencement Day. A total of thirty three students proudly walked the stage to receive their well-earned trade diplomas.

The ceremony began with Student Government President, Jessica Tyler who conducted the ceremony welcome.

Following, very talented students Marquan Daniel and Jasmine Foster performed a beautiful duet singing, “Can’t give up now.” The words rang true with everyone present, who in unison sang along filling the gymnasium with spirit and much hope for successful futures.

Mrs. Jan Yonts, Mayor of the City of Greenville, was the honored guest speaker who encouraged the students to continually work hard towards their vision of ‘their’ future. Yonts stated, “be what you see, set your vision and enjoy what you do, and do your very best while you do it. Open your eyes, have a vision by an act of power of what is come to be.”

Mr. Eric Jones, Center Director performed the closing tassel ceremony on behalf of the Muhlenberg Job Corps, Horizons Youth Services and the U.S. Department of Labor.
