Muhlenberg HEO Undertakes Center Beautification Project

Thanks to the students in our Heavy Equipment Industry (HEI) trades, Muhlenberg Job Corps Center underwent multiple campus ground improvements in August. HEI instructors and several hard trade students initiated a long-awaited landscaping overhaul. Landscape renovations started at the Welcome Center, working their way down to the Administration Building and numerous other areas throughout campus. Tasks included extracting old shrubbery and planting new shrubs; replacing dilapidated bed liners and laying Rainforest Red Rock; installing stone landscaping edgers, and tree removal, just to name a few.
During this massive project, not only were the HEI students improving the overall aesthetics of our Center, they were attaining experience on heavy construction equipment and gaining required Work Based Learning hours in their applicable trades. After completion, students were thanked with a catered lunch served by Student Training Director, Troy Fitzhugh, and Career Technical Training Manager, Harold Riley, and then were issued certificates of appreciation from the Center Director.
