Hannah Hamilton came to the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center in January, 2013 from Crestview, Florida. During her enrollment, she has excelled at every personal goal set. Hamilton is a full completer of not one, but two trades: Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Office Support. Hamilton is a former Student Government Association officer and Work-Based Learning achiever.
At this time, Hamilton is taking full advantage of the college programs offered through Job Corps at the Madisonville Community College. On May 26, 2015, the Madisonville Community College Scholarship Committee awarded Hannah the Owen Badgett Scholarship which is a projected amount of $1,000. Hannah is the first Job Corps student within the last two years to be accepted into the MCC nursing program. In Spring 2015, she also landed her name on the MCC Deans List.
Robbie McGehee, College Coordinator, states “Hannah continues to prove herself as an excellent role model for all students on campus. She has great communication and leadership skills and has repeatedly proven to be a very hard worker, which is one of the reasons why she was awarded this scholarship. I’m very proud of her as I’m proud of all the Job Corps students moving on to higher education at MCC.”
Hamilton’s future plans are to continue her education at a university to obtain her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Staff of the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center and Horizons Youth Services are very proud of all Hannah’s accomplishments!
