You never know what beautiful sights you may come upon at the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center! Recently the center’s sidewalks were transformed into beautiful artwork as more than 30 students participated in the Sidewalk Chalk Contest, sponsored by the Arts & Crafts department. Participants were each assigned a large block of sidewalk, given huge chalk sticks and told to let their imaginations run wild. The resulting art work ranged from inspirational quotes to a sidewalk version of Vincent Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night.”

Contest winner Matt Anderson from Madison, Alabama, drew “The Starry Night.” To look at his work, you might think Anderson has always enjoyed drawing, but in face, this contest was his first stab at drawing. Wow…now that’s talent! Anderson is currently enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
