Jonathan Johnson, a 21 year old Central City man, shows that working hard at MJCC really does pay off. Jonathan graduated Muhlenberg County High School in 2018. He wasted no time and started working on his career goals.
Jonathan was a great student! When he started Medical Office Support, he was co-enrolled with our local high school; therefore, he would only be on center one block a day. But he worked hard and always kept up with his assignments, never fell behind, and finished the class by passing his National Health Career Association certification as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant. “I had no doubt he would be successful at Madisonville Community College, and he didn’t disappoint,” said Monica Gunterman, the Health Cluster Manager.
Jonathan then began the Advanced College Training (ACT) program that is offered at Muhlenberg Job Corps through Madisonville Community College in August 2018 (Fall Semester). He is currently enrolled in his 2nd semester at MCC and is projected to graduate in May 2020. Currently Jonathan holds a 3.89 GPA, but feels that he can bring this up enough to make the Dean’s List. Jonathan plans on heading to Western University for the fall 2020 semester, where he plans on earning his accounting degree.
When asked who was the most inspirational on Jonathan’s time at MJCC, he hardly hesitated before saying, “Gunterman.” He stated, “She always pushes her students to do better.” He then said, “MJCC is a great program and more people could benefit if they truly knew what went here.”
Jonathan, MJCC is very proud of the example that you set for present and future students.
