Dave Gossom, a 1977 graduate of Muhlenberg Job Corps, visited the center on Friday, June 24th to speak with current students. Gossom speaking during an all student/staff assembly told the crowd Job Corps saved his life and put him on the right track in life. While at Muhlenberg, Gossom completed Heavy Equipment Operators and Construction Equipment Mechanics trades and obtained his GED. He also developed a keen interest in photography during his 2 years in the program. He took pictures of all major events on center and sold the pictures to the students. After completing the program, Gossom earned a scholarship to Brescia College in Owensboro, Kentucky where he studied photography. Gossom currently operates his own photography studio in Houston, Texas and specializes in wedding photos. He is married and has two children, a daughter who is a student at North Texas University and a son who will be entering the University of Dayton to study engineerning. Dave Gossom is a prime example of what the Job Corps program can do to help get a student on the way to a successful career.
