On Thursday, April 13, 2017, the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center was honored to have a special guest on Center, U.S. Representative James Comer (District 1).
Congressman Comer was greeted by members of the Student Government Association, Job Corps ambassadors, several Kentucky students, and community supporters. The Congressman toured the campus and students had the opportunity to share with him their fields of learning and goals after program completion.
After learning what type skills and certifications the students were obtaining, Comer said, “I have to admit, a college degree is not always the best route for some individuals. I’m proud of each student who is learning a skill in heavy equipment and welding, you will have a job wherever you want to go.”
Job Corps supporters from the community included Curtis McGehee, Muhlenberg County Sheriff; Jan Yonts, Mayor of Greenville; and Melinda Prunty, Kentucky State Representative (District 15.)
