One day Antoinette and her mother were driving past the Milwaukee Job Corps Center, Antoinette asked her what do you think? Antoinette Price a single mother not being able to work due to health issues, discussed it with her mother and in 2013 she decided to enroll in the program. Antoinette states that it was the beginning of her journey in Job Corps.
In Antoinette words “When I think of Job Corps-I think of the program that impacted my life. I think of all of the great accomplishments that lead to the success of my career. I think of the individuals that supported and motivated me to want more out of life. Enrolling into Job Corps was one of the best decisions that I have ever made. By being a part of the program, Job Corps allowed me to gain the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the work force. Although there were obstacles in my life, I had a support system on and off center (Ms. Townsend, Mr. Roberts, Mr. Kelly, and Dee Franzen) helped me overcome those obstacles. With that support I was not only able to finish a trade and High School with a 3.4 GPA. But I was able to obtain two College Degrees with a 3.8 GPA.”
While enrolled in Job Corps Antoinette was involved with the following community events in employment, get out to vote, homeless families, assisting individuals with barriers, youth, single moms, and career fairs.
Antoinette attended the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) Graduated in 2017 with a A.S. Degree in Business management. She also attended Purdue Global University, graduated in 2020 with a degree in Human Service-Youth and Family Administrative Services. She is currently working at Community Advocates as a Community Resource Navigator, assisting individuals with barriers.
Antoinette is now married, a proud home owner and an entrepreneur. Antoinette states that “Job Corps did not only give her the tools and education needed to further her career, but gave her the discipline, guidance, and motivation to be a successful business woman. She chose 3 Keys to Success that help her accomplished her goals and they were: Never Give up, Work Hard, and Ask for Help.”
